The Process:

I put a loving attention to detail in creating your pet from beautiful papers that I hand tear and construct with a professional gel medium. The result is a delightful likeness of your pet that becomes a very dimensional and textured final piece of original art.

Your pet can either be created as a realistic representation portrait or as pop art.

After creating your pet out of torn paper he/she will be mounted on a beautiful hand painted Cradled solid Birch panel with deep, painted sides, beautiful enough to hang as is or gorgeous professionally framed if you desire (framing is not included.)

After purchasing your portrait, I will begin the process by having you email me several digital head shot photos of your pet (at least 1 MB in size, for best results). I will select the photo that I believe will render the best portrait of your pet and email you to gain final approval before beginning.

This custom process takes **8-12 weeks from my first booking availability (See note at top of page for current dates) to render a beautiful memento of your very special and loved pet! Once your art is finished you will receive an email from me to ask for your approval of the final product before shipping.

Each pet is meticulously created from many small pieces of fine paper and you will have a beautiful very original piece of art for your home or as a gift for someone you think is really special!

Process:

Digital Painting is an exciting art form in which traditional painting techniques such as oils, acrylics, impasto, water colors , and collage are applied using digital tools via computer, a digital tablet, tablet tools and painting software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art and computer generated art, in that it does not involve a computer rendering from a model. The artist paints using true painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. The difference between digital and traditional painting process, is that an artist arranges their painting in layers that can be edited independently. Also, the ability to undo and redo strokes frees the artist to be more expressive and bold, But a digital painter must employ all of the techniques and study of a traditional painter. Color mixing and brush strokes are still carefully chosen and applied. Digital painting software give artists a similar environment to a physical painter: a canvas, painting tools, mixing palettes, and a multitude of color options with a lot less cleanup!
Finished Product/ Giclee Prints
Your finished digital painting is professionally printed as a Giclee Canvas The Definition : Giclee (zhee-klay or Jee-clay) A French word that means to spray or a spurt liquid.  A "giclee print" is an innovation in printmaking technology. The giclee process involves spraying microscopic dots of ink. Images are generated from high resolution digital scans and printed with archival quality canvas, and or fine art paper. The giclee printing process provides better color accuracy than other means of reproduction and is used by major art museums.  Another advantage of giclee printing is that digital images can be reproduced to almost any size and onto various media, giving the artist the ability to customize prints for a specific client.

My Digital Painting Process:
To create a painting I start with a digital photo. I hand brush and blend the pixels using a digital paintbrush stylus and an artist's tablet. I use the same motions and techniques that I would use if I were applying a traditional paintbrush to canvas. I love to paint this way; I have control over color and light and can continue to refine the painting without fear of ruining it, this allows me to thoroughly explore the image and bring out the emotional impact of the piece.
